honeycomb grill

mark and i bought a new car. a volkswagen golf gti. it's our first new car, so it's a pretty big deal. the blue subaru impreza was gracefully retired and we got some money for it to put towards the new wheels.

the car is silver (my choice), and it has a honeycomb grill in the front, as well as lots of other tiny perks. including the ability to close the windows once you are out of the car (and almost into the video store, for example). you can adjust the temperature in the glove compartment (for those ham sammies, i guess?). it is a tiptronic which means you can drive it in manual (for mark's benefit) or automatic (for mine). it's perfect. i've always thought vw's were cool. the bugs, really. as they elicit punches on long road trips. punch buggy red!

we drove out to greytown yesterday for lunch. up and over the wairarapa hills -- it was smooth in the new car and mark felt pretty cool, i think.
