jellyfish

how cool are jellyfish. especially when they are glowing in a sea of deep blue. these were taken at the aquarium in monterey. we stopped there on our trip from san francisco to irvine to see my relatives. mark and i have a thing for aquariums.
before the aquarium we stopped for lunch at bubba gump shrimp co. restaurant on the waterfront. it was one of two restaurants in the township, and i was in the mood for shrimp. it was fun. all the drinks and smoothies were listed on ping pong paddles (if you remember the movie 'forrest gump' - he was a wicked ping pong player). and there were these signs which you would flip over to read either 'run forest run' or 'stop forest stop'. this was your way of signaling to the waiters. pretty cheezy, but cute.

we went to another aquarium a week ago while we were in sydney. that one rocked. it had these clear glass tunnels you could walk through, while grey nurse sharks, turtles and stingrays swam all around you. that was cool. the colours on some of the tropical fish were spectacular.

Hey, we went to that aquarium when we were in Sydney 2 years ago. Bou loved the tunnel! She's a big aquarium fan, too. Is there one in Wellington? We'll have to check it out.
