long time no talk

so i've been thinking about getting a blog up and running for ages. and today's the day. this way it'll be tons easier to keep you all posted on what's going on in good 'ol wellington. i'll probably backfill in with key photos and stories from the last couple of years -- so check them out if you're keen, but they're as much for me as they are for you.

the brief update:

• life is good.

• still living in wellington. on 18 february 2007, we will have owned our lovely abode in newlands for 2 years. boo yah. little schrage is all growns up. our house rules, and i feel my interior decorating skills coming out (well, slowly, but surely).

• mark continues to be the greatest ever. we got engaged in july on the top of the empire state building. it was like a scene out of 'sleepless in seattle' ... except without the 'tom' or the 'hanks'.
  

• start a new job next week - i will be working at AllianceBernstein (an asset manager) in Wellington. i'm pretty psyched about it, as both the people and the company are the bomb diggity doo. i can't wait to start.

• off to sydney tomorrow for a long weekend. it's wellington anniversary on monday (in new zealand, each city has it's own anniversary day. so you can have half the branches of a bank, say, working in auckland, while those in wellington have the day off. cool, eh?), and my last little break before the new job. i've never been to australia, so i'm excited. it's just a skip over the tasman and it'll be good to escape the wind.

hmmm ... i think that pretty much sums up the important bits. life, love, work and play. happy new year kids.
