the chair
mark's been getting all crafty at home. he went out and bought all this wood, which i thought might sit in the garage for some time. but he got into it and busted out a fine product in one weekend.
first he made this wicked chair, which i painted a lovely green. that was the deal -- he builds, i paint (i didn't do so bad, eh?). the arms are perfectly flat and quite wide -- perfect for resting a nice flat white (or cup 'o joe) and a book. the seat contours to your back and bum. (man, i'm starting to sound like an infomercial).

measured perfectly for all the shoes he counted up -- with a 'his' and 'hers' side and everything. it was almost perfect. he did not know that i had a whole collection of shoes under my desk at work. those slowly came home as i started cleaning up my stuff from amp capital. and he hadn't accounted for those. or my boots. so now there is a much smaller (un-neat) row of shoes in front of the very smart shoe rack. it looks good.
finally, mark built a super-solid work bench. one that even the incredible hulk would have a hard time demolishing. next on the list is a buddy for the chair above -- i've once again promised to paint.

Tell Mark he is the craftiest craftsman I've ever met! Love the chair. Can't wait to chill in it out on the deck, drinking a Steinie. Just a few weeks now!
