vanuatu

one of the first trips mark and i took together was to vanuatu in late 2004. it was a beautiful island and i was so lucky to have gone. mark was there to dive, and i was there to snorkel/learn to dive. it was my first time doing both, and i couldn't have been more spoilt with warm water and beautiful things to see under the sea.

we stayed at hideaway island, in a beautiful little hut with a shower that opened up to a private outside (if you wanted a view while you soaped up). we went on dives on most afternoons, but also went on trips into town and out into villages to meet up with some natives. the people there are lovely.
the food on the island was divine. fresh mahi mahi and curries, local brews and yummy desserts, we couldn't have asked for more. we also tried kava kava. it tastes like dirt and makes your mouth go numb. good times, i tell you.
