famous peeps

also in new york, mark and i bumped into a few famous folks. we saw the dave letterman show. tickets are free -- you just have to answer a question about the show. and if you're walking around times square on most afternoons, there will be people wearing 'dave' t-shirts trying to give away stand-by tickets to the show (in case those they had sent tickets to don't show). dave is great and watching it live is cool (the theater is a lot smaller than it appears on tv). it's very cozy.

so mark and i have been twice. we've seen farrah fawcett, martin freeman and anderson cooper. i was most excited about martin, because i love the office (the english version). and he's hilarious as tim. i got a picture of him and mark outside the show. he also gave us an autograph (man, i'm such a geeky fan). he's quite little, and very kind. he let me take a picture of him and mark. he's standing on the curb, and mark's grinning.

we also saw anna nicole at grand central station. she was at one of the newstand shops signing autographs for her new gossip column in the ny post (we didn't wait for that, but we did get a photo). so many people waiting to see her. chaos, i tell you.

and last but not least, here's a picture of alli with phil keoghan, the host of the amazing race -- one of the greatest shows ever. phil's a kiwi, and alli bumped into him at the airport on her way home from nz. she thought he was in town filming for 'the race', but really he's been in nz filming his new-ish, local reality show - no opportunity wasted (N.O.W.). yeah, it's about as good as it sounds. but major points to phil for coming home and showing some love to his home-ies. that's a long trip for someone who a) doesn't need the exposure and b) doesn't need the dough.

so yeah, he rocks. i'm hoping mark and i will be on the amazing race one of these days. i'm just waiting for them to start accepting applicants with non-american passports -- i'll definitely need mark's stick-shift driving and map-reading skills (although he won't be able to do both, so i'll have to pick one up before then).
