you've got to be kidding me
this past july, when mark and i were in nyc, this crazy doctor blew up his house. in manhattan, just a few blocks from where we lived. "[The physician] blew up his manhattan townhouse today as part of a suicide attempt that he had engineered in order to also prevent his estranged wife from obtaining the proceeds from the sale of the multimillion-dollar building".
mark and i walked by the burnt down brownstone a couple of days later, and it was quite a site. the doctor had tried to kill himself, and died in hospital a few days later. meghan, my friend who's in residency in nyc, just down the road, too, saw the doctor and said he had burns over most of his body and wouldn't survive. she was right. the explosion only burnt the sides of the buildings on either side -- no one else was hurt. crazy stuff, eh?
