springtime in welli

today was a gorgeous spring day in wellington. the sun was beaming, the sky was clear and the saturday was fine (cheesy, but so true). we got loads of washing done and listened to the red sox game, courtesy of mlb.com. they only seem to play yankees and mets games on espn in nz. no fair, but at least we get the gripping red sox/yankees faceoffs. those never dissapoint. the rugby world cup is still on, but it's being played in france so the hours are all over the place (early 6am or late 12am starts). we've stayed up to watch the all blacks kick some rugby butt.

here's a sweet picture of ostriches we saw on the way to martinborough, over the wairarapa hills. i mean where else do you drive by tons of sheep and ostriches? we spent the weekend in martinborough -- the cafes and town of the vineyard town are lovely. adrien brody loved going to martinborough while he was filming king kong in wellington with peter jackson (famous person plug). not hard to imagine why. it's an over the hill getaway -- a place to take advantage of. p.s. the red sox dominated (thank you, big papi).
